About The Position

Maple Lake Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our busy, fast-paced small animal practice in Maple Lake, Minnesota. We are looking for a veterinary professional who communicates clearly, works well as part of a team, and genuinely enjoys helping clients and their furry family members. Our three-doctor clinic cares for dogs and cats and is part of the Animals Inc family of veterinary practices serving Central Minnesota. Requirements

  • A current Veterinary Technician license or substantial hands-on Veterinary Assistant experience
  • Strong technical skills appropriate to your experience and training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to patients, clients, and coworkers
  • Confidence assisting with examinations, treatments, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping habits

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to maintain an efficient workflow and positive hospital culture
  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care from patient intake through discharge
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and medical procedures
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments
  • Perform venipuncture, intravenous catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection
  • Complete in-house laboratory testing
  • Position patients and obtain diagnostic radiographs
  • Prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for surgical and dental procedures
  • Assist with surgical and dental procedures from preparation through recovery
  • Monitor anesthesia, patient vital signs, and overall patient condition during procedures
  • Provide attentive postoperative and recovery care
  • Clean, maintain, and prepare surgical and dental instruments
  • Maintain complete and accurate medical records and patient charts
  • Educate clients about medications, discharge instructions, preventive care, and ongoing patient needs
  • Communicate with clients using compassion, clarity, and confidence
  • Help maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment areas
