About The Position

Springboro Veterinary Clinic is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join their full-time support staff. This is a five-doctor, AAHA-accredited practice that provides exceptional patient care for a wide variety of animals, including large and small animals, as well as exotics. The clinic offers a range of services such as orthopedics, house calls, behavioral consultations, and nutritional support, providing ample opportunities for team members to learn and grow their skills. The clinic emphasizes a positive culture that supports work-life balance, with mentoring from experienced teammates and regular team-building events.

Requirements

  • Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience
  • Strong patient care and animal-handling skills
  • Experience assisting with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
  • Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery
  • Comfort with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
  • Strong client communication and education skills
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • The ability to stay calm and professional in a busy hospital environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with patient exams, treatments, and procedures
  • Provide compassionate nursing care to a variety of small animal and exotic patients
  • Safely handle and restrain patients
  • Support surgical and orthopedic procedures
  • Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Collect and process laboratory samples
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Assist with radiographs and diagnostic procedures
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records
  • Educate clients and clearly communicate veterinary recommendations
  • Support behavioral and nutritional consultations as needed
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes in condition
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and teammates to keep the hospital running smoothly
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
