About The Position
Springboro Veterinary Clinic is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join their full-time support staff. This is a five-doctor, AAHA-accredited practice that provides exceptional patient care for a wide variety of animals, including large and small animals, as well as exotics. The clinic offers a range of services such as orthopedics, house calls, behavioral consultations, and nutritional support, providing ample opportunities for team members to learn and grow their skills. The clinic emphasizes a positive culture that supports work-life balance, with mentoring from experienced teammates and regular team-building events.
Requirements
- Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience
- Strong patient care and animal-handling skills
- Experience assisting with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery
- Comfort with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
- Strong client communication and education skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- The ability to stay calm and professional in a busy hospital environment
- A positive attitude and willingness to support your teammates
- A desire to learn, grow, and share your knowledge

Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with patient exams, treatments, and procedures
- Provide compassionate nursing care to a variety of small animal and exotic patients
- Safely handle and restrain patients
- Support surgical and orthopedic procedures
- Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Collect and process laboratory samples
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Assist with radiographs and diagnostic procedures
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records
- Educate clients and clearly communicate veterinary recommendations
- Support behavioral and nutritional consultations as needed
- Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes in condition
- Collaborate with veterinarians and teammates to keep the hospital running smoothly
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
