BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician for the overnight shift (7 PM - 7 AM, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday). Requirements

  • Experienced Veterinary Technician
  • Ability to calculate basic medical math
  • Ability to compassionately, calmly, and gently approach and handle patients
  • Understanding of the classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response
  • Ability to administer medications via appropriate routes and duration
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy
  • Ability to place a peripheral intravenous catheter in the cephalic vein
  • Ability to alert Veterinarian if the patient's status changes and/or physical exam or monitoring parameters are outside of normal ranges
  • Ability to perform physical exams; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort
  • Ability to intubate patients under the direction of a Level II technician or higher
  • Ability to support Veterinarian and client through the euthanasia process
  • Ability to read and follow orders written on the treatment sheet accurately and promptly
  • Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card
