About The Position
VCA River is seeking an experienced Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join their overnight emergency and ICU team. This role is at an AAHA-accredited emergency and specialty animal hospital in Chattanooga, TN. The hospital fosters a positive culture of trust, support, and teamwork, aiming to provide world-class medicine with hometown care. The position is full-time, with shifts available from Monday to Thursday, 10 pm to 8 am. The compensation is $18 - $20 per hour, with an additional $3 overnight shift differential, and is based on skill set and experience.
Requirements
- Proficient in veterinary assisting duties.
- One or more years of veterinary assisting experience.
- Available to work some weekends to meet scheduling needs.

Responsibilities
- Provide care, diagnostics, and treatments for patients in the 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care service.
- Perform compassionate patient care.
- Educate clients on patient care.
- Handle veterinary patients gently, safely, and effectively.
- Collect and process lab samples.
- Administer pharmacy and medications.
- Assist with diagnostic imaging.
- Prepare for and assist with surgeries.
- Maintain medical records.
