Four Paws Animal Hospital is a full-service, AAHA-accredited veterinary practice seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our skilled team in O’Fallon, Illinois. Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant.
  • Strong animal-handling, restraint, and technical skills.
  • The ability to multitask and adapt in a busy clinical environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A reliable, detail-oriented, and compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Confidence assisting with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
  • A commitment to high-quality medicine and exceptional client service.
  • A desire to continue learning and strengthening your technical abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Current veterinary technician credentials are welcomed but not required for experienced assistants.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory testing, and sample collection based on experience.
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs.
  • Support surgical and dental procedures, including preparation, anesthesia monitoring, recovery, and instrument care.
  • Provide attentive nursing care for hospitalized, surgical, and recovering patients.
  • Monitor patient comfort, vital signs, and overall condition throughout treatment and recovery.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients about their pets’ care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation.
  • Keep treatment areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for patient care.
  • Support efficient hospital workflow through teamwork, professionalism, and clear communication.
