Experienced Veterinary Technician
About The Position
Greenland Veterinary Hospital is seeking certified veterinary technicians who want to feel valued and make a difference in the lives of people and their pets. Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, with a closure on Wednesdays from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm. We are closed on weekends.
Requirements
- Certified veterinary technician
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent customer care skills

- Ability to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
- Ability to be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases

- Knowledge in preventative care and hospital flow
- Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner

- Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
Responsibilities
- Phlebotomy
- Catheter placement
- Cystocentesis
- Fine-needle aspirates
- Animal restraint
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Surgical prep
- Running treatments on appointments
- Patient care
- Interpret medical records
- Record client history accurately
- Sample collection (blood, urine, fecal, skin)
- Setting up and processing laboratory samples and tests
- Positioning and capturing radiographs
- Anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and recovery
