Experienced Veterinary Technician
About The Position
Nease Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and team-oriented Veterinary Technician to join their growing team. The hospital offers a wide range of services including preventive & wellness care, holistic services such as acupuncture, nutritional counseling, dentistry and soft tissue surgeries, and behavioral management appointments. They believe in work-life balance, operating Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with weekends off.
Requirements
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-first mentality
- Dependable, punctual, and ready to contribute each day
- At least 1 year of veterinary experience preferred
- Available to work weekends as needed
- Exceptional client service and clear, professional communication
- Accurately interprets medical records and obtains thorough patient histories
- Knowledge of preventive care, surgical procedures, and daily hospital operations
- Confidence in low-stress animal restraint and patient handling
- Skilled in laboratory sample collection and processing
- Proficient in diagnostic radiography
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical support
- Eager to learn, grow, and expand clinical knowledge
- Embraces constructive feedback and continuously strives to improve patient care and hospital efficiency
Nice To Haves
- CVT/RVT/LVT credentials are a plus
- Dental radiography experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Providing compassionate patient care and low-stress handling techniques
- Triaging incoming patients and assisting with medical assessments
- Collecting and processing laboratory samples, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
- Performing diagnostic imaging, including radiography
- Monitoring and caring for hospitalized patients with varying levels of medical needs
- Administering medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Educating clients and communicating treatment plans with professionalism and empathy
- Assisting with surgical procedures, patient preparation, and recovery
- Monitoring anesthesia and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures
- Collaborating with a dedicated team to provide outstanding veterinary care
