About The Position

VetSelect Animal Hospital of Novi is hiring an Experienced or Licensed Veterinary Technician. This is a full-time position with a four-day workweek and rotating Saturdays. The hospital is a small animal practice focused on wellness and providing high-quality care for companion animals. Veterinary Technicians play a vital role in providing excellent medical care to patients and exceptional customer service to clients. The ideal candidate is an experienced technician ready to fully use their skills, work closely with veterinarians, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their families.

Requirements

• A minimum of one year of veterinary experience is preferred
• Experience utilizing core veterinary technician skills
• A positive attitude and team-oriented approach
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Basic math skills
• Computer literacy
• Strong attention to detail when maintaining medical records and providing patient care
• The ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
• A commitment to excellent patient care and outstanding customer service

Responsibilities

• Draw blood and collect samples for diagnostic testing
• Perform in-house laboratory tests
• Safely handle and restrain patients
• Administer medications and treatments as directed
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records
• Educate clients about their pets’ care and veterinary recommendations
• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Help provide excellent medical care to companion animal patients
• Deliver compassionate and professional customer service to clients
• Communicate effectively with veterinarians, teammates, and pet owners
