The Castro Animal Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who is passionate about animal health, committed to exceptional patient care, and excited to grow within a supportive, collaborative environment. Located in San Francisco's vibrant Castro/Duboce Triangle neighborhood, our busy five-doctor hospital provides high-quality veterinary care to a loyal and engaged client base. Nice To Haves
- Experience with IDEXX equipment
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical support
- Strong client education and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Safely handle and restrain canine and feline patients during examinations and procedures
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments
- Perform venipuncture and assist with IV catheter placement
- Run in-house laboratory diagnostics using IDEXX equipment
- Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs
- Prepare and administer medications as directed
- Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, recovery, and surgical support
- Educate clients and provide clear communication regarding patient care and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation
- Support a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment
