Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of veterinary experience required
  • Strong knowledge of preventive care and vaccines
  • Experience with surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery
  • Knowledge of Fear Free techniques and low-stress handling practices
  • Experience with dentistry, radiography, venipuncture, and IV catheter placement
  • Excellent client communication and education skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, coworkers, and leadership
  • Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
  • Professionalism, compassion, patience, and emotional intelligence
  • Desire to continue learning and sharing knowledge with others

Responsibilities

  • Obtain complete patient histories and maintain accurate treatment records
  • Assist with wellness care, vaccines, and preventive medicine protocols
  • Administer and dispense medications as directed
  • Perform pharmacology calculations accurately
  • Assist with surgery preparation, anesthesia monitoring, recovery, and patient care
  • Perform dental procedures and support dental treatments
  • Assist with digital radiography and diagnostic procedures
  • Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Utilize Fear Free handling techniques whenever possible
  • Educate clients on treatments, medications, and preventive care recommendations
  • Support daily hospital operations while delivering exceptional patient care
