Brittmoore Animal Hospital is a five-doctor, AAHA-accredited small animal practice in Houston, Texas, dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care and an exceptional client experience. Requirements
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician
- Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and laboratory procedures
- Confidence assisting with surgery and dentistry
- Knowledge of preventive care, vaccines, and patient nursing
- Strong communication and client education skills
- Ability to multitask while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
- A positive attitude, dependable work ethic, and team-first mentality
- Passion for continuing education and professional growth
- Commitment to providing outstanding patient care and customer service
Responsibilities
- Triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories, vital signs, and patient assessments
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Provide compassionate nursing care from patient intake through discharge
- Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection
- Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs
- Perform in-house laboratory testing, including CBCs, chemistry panels, urinalysis, cytology, and fecal testing
- Prepare patients for surgery and dentistry while assisting with anesthesia monitoring and recovery
- Monitor patient vitals and provide attentive nursing care throughout hospitalization
- Practice low-stress patient handling techniques whenever possible
- Educate clients about medications, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and preventive care
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Keep treatment and exam areas clean, organized, and well stocked
- Collaborate with the entire hospital team to provide exceptional patient care and client service
