Veterinary Technician - ICU
About The Position
Metropolitan Veterinary Associates is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician for its ICU in Norristown, Pennsylvania. The schedule is Sunday through Tuesday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Starting pay is $30 per hour, with a 15% shift differential for hours worked on Sunday. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, a $1,500 relocation bonus, and a $2,000 retention bonus. The technician will provide hands-on intensive care, monitor patients using advanced equipment, and collaborate with board-certified criticalists and emergency veterinarians. The role also involves compassionate communication with pet owners, training teammates, and helping improve processes. Requirements
- Experience in a fast-paced emergency or ICU setting.
- Skills in patient monitoring, ventilator support, anesthesia, venipuncture, and IV placement.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- CVT license.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on ICU patient care, including treatments and vital-sign monitoring.
- Perform or assist with advanced diagnostics.
- Closely monitor patients using advanced equipment.
- Work closely with board-certified criticalists and emergency veterinarians.
- Communicate compassionately with pet parents.
- Help train teammates and improve processes.
