About The Position
Lovet Pet Health Care is hiring a Veterinary Technician for Norterra Animal Hospital. The technician assists the doctor with medical procedures, including surgery, under the doctor’s direct supervision; provides high-quality care to animals in the hospital; and delivers excellent customer service to clients. Lovet Pet Health Care has 22 small-animal general-practice hospitals in the Greater Phoenix Metro area. Requirements
- Interact calmly and compassionately with furry, fuzzy, feathered, and scaly animals.
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Certified veterinary technician.
- Associate degree in veterinary assisting.
Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service to clients and their pets.
- Assist the doctor with surgery-related care, including pre-anesthetic protocols, anesthesia monitoring, and postoperative care, under direct supervision.
- Communicate with clients verbally and in writing about their pet’s care, answer questions, explain treatments, and obtain consent for treatment plans.
- Manage medical records using practice management software.
- Dispense medication; perform X-rays and blood draws; place catheters; obtain samples; provide treatments; operate diagnostic equipment; administer vaccines; and restrain animals as needed.
- Set up, break down, clean, and maintain medical equipment.
- Assist with cleaning all areas of the hospital.
