Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years of veterinary clinical experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate
  • Knowledge of vaccines and preventive veterinary care
  • Understanding of low-stress patient handling practices
  • Experience with medication dispensing and administration
  • Ability to obtain thorough patient histories and maintain accurate treatment records
  • Knowledge of pharmacology calculations
  • Experience with surgical preparation, monitoring, and recovery
  • Experience with dentistry and radiology
  • Venipuncture and IV catheter placement skills
  • Strong client education and communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients, teammates, and leadership
  • A team-first approach built on collaboration and mutual respect

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to veterinary patients
  • Apply knowledge of vaccines and preventive care
  • Use low-stress handling practices to help patients feel safe and comfortable
  • Obtain complete patient histories and maintain accurate treatment records
  • Prepare, dispense, and administer medications as directed
  • Perform pharmacology and medication calculations accurately
  • Assist with surgical procedures, including patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery
  • Assist with dental procedures and patient care
  • Perform and assist with radiology and diagnostic imaging
  • Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Support veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Safely and compassionately handle and restrain patients
  • Educate clients and clearly communicate veterinary recommendations
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians and fellow support team members
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and responsibilities
  • Help maintain an efficient, organized, and supportive clinical environment
  • Continue learning while sharing knowledge with the rest of the team
