Requirements

• Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience
• Passion for patient care and veterinary medicine
• Ability to work well in a collaborative veterinary environment
• Effective communication skills with doctors, coworkers, and clients
• Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
• Ability to stay calm and focused in a busy veterinary hospital
• Motivation to continue learning and developing professionally

Responsibilities

• Providing compassionate, hands-on patient care
• Assisting veterinarians with examinations, treatments, procedures, and surgery
• Obtaining and monitoring patient vital signs
• Collecting and processing laboratory samples
• Placing IV catheters and administering medications
• Preparing patients for procedures and assisting with anesthesia monitoring
• Taking radiographs
• Maintaining accurate medical records
• Communicating with clients about patient care and treatment instructions
• Maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment areas
• Supporting veterinarians and fellow veterinary team members
• Helping create a positive experience for patients, clients, and coworkers
