The Veterinary Lead Technician Supervisor Role is a hands-on clinical position that combines daily technician responsibilities with leadership in staff training, mentorship, and development. This role supports the growth and success of all team members by helping ensure consistent training, strong clinical skills, and adherence to hospital protocols — while continuing to function as an active veterinary technician on the floor. This position is designed to promote teamwork, learning, and high-quality patient care through guidance, support, and collaboration. Requirements

  • Experience as a licensed veterinary technician
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong animal handling skills
  • Knowledge of clinical procedures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements
  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly management tasks and duties
  • Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines
  • Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records
  • Educate staff and clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment
  • Leadership in staff training, mentorship, and development
  • Helping ensure consistent training, strong clinical skills, and adherence to hospital protocols
  • Function as an active veterinary technician on the floor
