About The Position

The Veterinary Technician Supervisor plays a key leadership role within our Emergency department. This position is responsible for training, mentoring, and supervising our technical team while also working hands-on in a clinical capacity. You’ll partner closely with the Hospital Services Manager and Hospital Director to ensure exceptional patient care, efficient hospital operations, and a positive, collaborative team environment. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced technician ready to step into a leadership role and make a meaningful impact on both patient outcomes and team development.

Requirements

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT, or RVT) in good standing required
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in emergency, critical care, or specialty medicine
  • Strong technical skill set including anesthesia, diagnostics, and ICU patient care
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and compassion.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent English skills (speaking and reading) are required

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support veterinary technicians and assistants within the ER, fostering a positive, engaged, and accountable team culture.
  • Train and develop staff through ongoing coaching, skill assessments, and structured learning opportunities.
  • Create and manage team schedules to ensure appropriate staffing and control overtime.
  • Support overall operations, including case flow, quality of patient care, and client experience.
  • Assist with performance management, employee relations, and team development.
  • Facilitate team meetings and continuing education initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards such as OSHA and DEA requirements.
  • Work alongside the team in a hands-on capacity, performing technical tasks such as anesthesia monitoring, phlebotomy, catheter placement, radiographs, and providing advanced care for critical patients.
