Requirements

  • At least 1 year or more of experience in a busy hospital, focusing on nursing care.
  • Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques to provide care for patients requiring this.
  • Knowledge of the instruments, materials, and standardized procedures used in the full variety of treatments to make preparations and provide "tableside" assistance.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services, including client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
  • Must be 18 years or older to apply.

  • Associates degree in Veterinary Technology
  • CVT license
  • Experience with CPR
  • Experience with EzyVet
  • Experience with Smartflow

Responsibilities

  • Provide critical care to pets in need during overnight hours.
  • Assist in emergency care situations.
  • Perform tasks such as restraint, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, NG tube insertion, and Nasal Cannula administration.
  • Provide nursing care in a busy hospital setting.
  • Assist with patient care requiring sterilization techniques.
  • Provide "tableside" assistance during treatments.
  • Assess client needs and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction on given assignments.
