About The Position

Take your emergency and surgical nursing skills to the next level while caring for hospitalized surgical patients in a collaborative, specialty-focused environment. At Pet+ER, you'll work alongside experienced Emergency Clinicians and specialists, providing overnight care to complex surgical patients while continuing to build your expertise in emergency and critical care medicine. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two to three years of veterinary experience in a specialty or emergency hospital.
  • Strong technical skills including phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, radiography, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory procedures, and patient care.
  • Ability to provide attentive nursing care for hospitalized surgical patients.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced overnight emergency environment.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional overnight nursing care for surgical and hospitalized patients.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and specialists to provide outstanding patient and client care.
  • Perform safe, low-stress patient handling techniques.
  • Obtain blood samples and perform in-house laboratory testing.
  • Assist with diagnostic imaging, including radiographs.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor hospitalized surgical patients and promptly recognize changes in patient condition.
  • Assist with anesthesia monitoring and endoscopy procedures as needed.
  • Support appointments and provide client education.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients, clients, and team members.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and excellent communication while working independently overnight.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.
