About The Position
Bulger Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician, Emergency to join our overnight Emergency team in Lawrence, Massachusetts. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Veterinary Technician looking to grow ER and ICU skills while working in a collaborative specialty hospital environment. As an Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician at Bulger, you’ll work alongside experienced veterinarians, specialists, and technicians while supporting advanced patient care and making a direct impact every shift.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a veterinary clinical setting required
- Strong anesthesia and patient monitoring skills
- Confidence with catheter placement, laboratory work, and technical nursing skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospital environment
- Strong communication skills and commitment to exceptional patient care
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
Nice To Haves
- CVT, LVT, or RVT preferred, but not required
- Emergency or critical care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Triage emergency patients and support the intake process
- Guide clients through their pet’s treatment and care plan
- Collaborate closely with DVMs on diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
- Perform anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery care
- Place IV catheters and collect laboratory samples
- Assist with radiographs, imaging, surgeries, and emergency procedures
- Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in condition
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Deliver exceptional patient care and client service in a fast-paced emergency setting
