About The Position

Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (VESH) is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine service. This unique role is a 50/50 split between our South Deerfield and West Springfield hospitals, giving you the opportunity to expand your experience across two specialty teams while providing exceptional patient care. Requirements

  • Veterinary Technician experience required; Internal Medicine or specialty experience preferred
  • CVT, LVT, or RVT credentials are strongly preferred
  • Strong anesthesia monitoring and patient care skills
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced specialty hospital environment
  • Positive attitude with a collaborative, team-first approach
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Passion for continuing education and professional growth
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required

Responsibilities

  • Assist doctors during Internal Medicine appointments, diagnostics, and treatments
  • Safely restrain patients and obtain accurate patient histories
  • Administer and monitor anesthesia while ensuring safe patient recovery
  • Monitor anesthesia equipment and troubleshoot as needed
  • Educate clients regarding procedures, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
  • Maintain accurate medical records, nursing notes, and treatment charges
  • Coordinate appointments while helping providers stay on schedule
  • Manage Internal Medicine inventory, restock exam rooms, and maintain supplies
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain endoscopic equipment and treatment areas
  • Collaborate closely with doctors and teammates to deliver exceptional patient care
