About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department in Tukwila, WA! This role involves acting as a liaison between internists and clients, discussing patient histories, care instructions, lab results, and patient updates. You will have client contact via phone, email, and in-person. Responsibilities include assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x-rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills are required.

Requirements

• Licensed Veterinary Technician
• Strong anesthesia skills
• Strong phlebotomy skills
• Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additional job duties as assigned.
