Veterinary Technician - Floor Supervisor

About The Position

This position will include teaching and mentoring a team to be successful in all aspects of veterinary technology! The Floor Supervisor is responsible for oversight for both the technician team as well as the customer service team. This position will be approximately 75% working on the floor and 25% administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of veterinary technician experience required.
  • Proficient in anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and recovery- the right candidate for this position will be able to comfortably assist in surgery.
  • A desire to teach others to create a well-rounded team.
  • Rotating weekend availability.
  • Experience with inventory management.
  • A high work ethic and positive attitude team member.
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely.
  • Interpret medical records and record client history accurately.
  • Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow.
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner.
  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin.
  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests.
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs.
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset.
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency.
  • Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises.
  • May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Nice To Haves

  • A Certified Veterinary Technician would be highly preferred, but is not required for an experienced candidate.
  • 1+ year of professional leadership experience preferred.
