About The Position

Rancho Sequoia Veterinary Hospital is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to support a busy hospital focused on high-quality medicine and positive experiences for patients, clients, and staff. The role involves hands-on veterinary patient care in a clinical environment and requires prior veterinary hospital experience. Requirements

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant, Technician, or Nurse is required.
• Excellent technical skills, including venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, and laboratory techniques.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine and animal care.
• Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Flexible schedule.
• Passion for animals and dedication to providing exceptional care.

Nice To Haves

• Valid Veterinary Technician or Nurse certification is a plus but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations and treatments.
• Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats.
• Draw blood and collect laboratory samples.
• Run in-house diagnostic testing.
• Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under veterinarian direction.
• Take and assist with digital radiographs.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist with procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs.
• Provide post-operative and hospitalized patient care.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Educate and communicate with clients.
• Keep treatment areas organized, stocked, and ready for patient care.
