About The Position

The Animal Hospital of Dauphin County (AHDC), an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital serving the Hershey, Pennsylvania area, is hiring a Veterinary Technician Assistant. The hospital provides general practice, urgent care, exotic-animal, and specialty/referral services in a fast-paced environment. The assistant supports veterinary technicians and doctors with patient care, treatments, and daily hospital operations while helping provide compassionate care and professional service to clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinary technicians and doctors with daily patient care and treatments.
• Safely and compassionately restrain and handle animals during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare examination rooms, treatment areas, and equipment for patient visits.
• Monitor patients and provide care before and after procedures.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain examination rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and equipment.
• Assist with laundry, stock supplies, and keep the hospital organized.
• Support patient admissions, discharges, and other daily hospital needs.
• Help ensure each patient receives compassionate, attentive care.
• Communicate professionally and kindly with clients and team members.
