Veterinary Technician Assistant
About The Position
Animal and Bird Medical Center is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our compassionate and growing team. If you love working with animals and want the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, and other exotic species, this could be the perfect next step in your veterinary career. Requirements
- Previous experience in dog and cat veterinary medicine is required
- Strong communication and client service skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Genuine passion for animal care and patient well-being
Nice To Haves
- Experience with birds and exotic pets is a plus, but not required—we are happy to train the right candidate
Responsibilities
- Provide daily patient care and husbandry for hospitalized patients
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations and procedures
- Safely restrain and handle patients during treatments and diagnostics
- Monitor patients during surgery and recovery
- Assist with radiographs and diagnostic procedures
- Prepare laboratory samples and support in-house testing
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the hospital
- Answer phones and assist with scheduling appointments as needed
- Support the veterinary team in delivering exceptional patient care
