Veterinary Technician Assistant - Radiology
About The Position
As a Veterinary Technician Assistant - Radiology, you will play a key role in supporting the Radiology Service and ensuring the smooth coordination of imaging procedures. In this role, you will assist radiologists and technicians during imaging appointments, prepare and position patients safely for diagnostic procedures, and operate and assist with CT and ultrasound imaging under supervision. You will also assist with feline care within the I-131 service, maintain accurate medical records and imaging documentation, and communicate clearly and compassionately with clients and team members. Support for other hospital departments will be provided when Radiology tasks are complete. Responsibilities include general patient care, such as restraint, walking dogs, laundry, and cage cleaning, as well as helping to maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked radiology and treatment area. Upholding safety protocols and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures is also essential.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a veterinary or clinical setting (or educational equivalent)
- Experience with basic animal handling and restraint required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency with computer systems and medical recordkeeping
- Commitment to professional growth and development
- Willingness to work with radiology equipment and maintain safety protocols
