About The Position

Animal ER of University Park in Bradenton, FL is looking for experienced Veterinary Technician Assistants to join our overnight emergency team. This is a great opportunity for a veterinary professional who enjoys emergency medicine, wants to continue growing their skills, and values teamwork and excellent patient and client care. As a Veterinary Technician Assistant, you will support patient care, diagnostics, treatments, monitoring, and daily hospital operations while working alongside veterinarians and veterinary technicians in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in veterinary medicine
• Working knowledge of basic veterinary medicine and safe patient restraint
• Strong attention to detail and ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills with clients and veterinary team members
• Comfortable adapting to the changing needs of emergency patients
• Passion for learning, professional growth, and providing excellent patient care
• A positive, respectful, and team-oriented approach to working in an animal hospital
• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.

Nice To Haves

• Prior emergency veterinary experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care, monitoring, treatments, and safe patient restraint
• Assist with routine diagnostic testing, including radiographs, bloodwork, and fecal testing
• Administer medications under the supervision of a veterinarian or veterinary technician
• Feed and bathe hospitalized patients
• Maintain inventory and stock treatment and hospital areas
• Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, exam rooms, and treatment areas
• Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
• Answer phones and assist clients with questions regarding their pets
• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians with emergency patient care and hospital needs
• Perform additional duties as assigned
