About The Position
Veterinary Assistant – Emergency $22.00–$27.00/hour (DOE) Full-time opportunity in Grand Terrace, California Schedule: Full-Time | Day, Swing, Weekend & Holiday Shifts Required Build your emergency veterinary career at Animal Emergency Clinic (AEC), part of Ethos Veterinary Health. Requirements
- Minimum of two years of emergency veterinary experience required.
- Strong technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, patient monitoring, and surgical assistance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced emergency environment.
- Passion for emergency medicine and providing exceptional patient care.
- Reliable, motivated, and compassionate with a strong work ethic.
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians with emergency procedures and patient care.
- Perform venipuncture, place intravenous (IV) catheters, and administer medications and treatments as directed.
- Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery.
- Support triage, diagnostics, and emergency treatment protocols.
- Assist with laboratory sample collection and diagnostic procedures.
- Monitor hospitalized patients and promptly communicate changes in condition.
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
- Ensure treatment areas are clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
