Veterinary Assistant – Emergency $22.00–$27.00/hour (DOE) Full-time opportunity in Grand Terrace, California Schedule: Full-Time | Day, Swing, Weekend & Holiday Shifts Required Build your emergency veterinary career at Animal Emergency Clinic (AEC), part of Ethos Veterinary Health. Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of emergency veterinary experience required.
  • Strong technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, patient monitoring, and surgical assistance.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced emergency environment.
  • Passion for emergency medicine and providing exceptional patient care.
  • Reliable, motivated, and compassionate with a strong work ethic.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians with emergency procedures and patient care.
  • Perform venipuncture, place intravenous (IV) catheters, and administer medications and treatments as directed.
  • Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery.
  • Support triage, diagnostics, and emergency treatment protocols.
  • Assist with laboratory sample collection and diagnostic procedures.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and promptly communicate changes in condition.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
  • Ensure treatment areas are clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.
