Veterinary Technician Assistant, Emergency
About The Position
We’re looking for a passionate, team-oriented individual to join our veterinary team as a Technician Assistant. In this vital role, you’ll support both our medical team and clients by helping deliver exceptional patient care and service. Requirements
- Skill level and assessment will determine pay rate
- Flexibility required for a mix of day, evening, and overnight hours
- Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts per week
- Must be able to work weekdays from 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Must be able to work weekends from Friday 7:00 p.m. – Monday 7:00 a.m.
Nice To Haves
- License application and renewal reimbursement for RVTs.
- Financial support and onsite mentorship for those pursuing VTS certification
Responsibilities
- Assisting with diagnostic procedures, radiographs, and IV setups
- Collecting samples and operating/maintaining laboratory equipment
- Providing compassionate animal handling and restraint, even with challenging patients
- Supporting patient care needs like cleaning, walking, and feeding
- Helping maintain accurate client and patient records, billing, and estimates
- Demonstrating calm and efficiency during emergency situations
- Assisting with client communication, including phone calls, patient updates, and check-ins
- Presenting estimates and processing payments
- Ensuring a clean, welcoming hospital environment (kennels, treatment areas, exam rooms, etc.)
- Participating in team rounds to ensure continuity of care
- Providing top-tier customer service with empathy and professionalism
- Contributing to a positive, collaborative team culture
