About The Position

The SPCA Tampa Bay is looking for a Veterinary Services Manager to join our team! In this role, you will oversee daily operations of the shelter’s veterinary services, ensuring efficient workflow, strong staff support, and consistent high-quality patient care and customer service. This role manages administrative tasks, staffing, communication and inventory to keep the clinic running effectively. This role also provides leadership and guidance to veterinary services staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and collaborates across departments to support the overall health and well‑being of animals in the organization’s care. Highlights of what you’ll do: Oversee daily operations of the veterinary clinic, including managing schedules to ensure adequate coverage, optimizing workflow, and resource allocation to achieve timely evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for shelter animals. Supervise, mentor, and support Lead Veterinary Technicians to successfully lead daily clinical operations, supporting them in decision‑making, workload management, and workflow coordination. Develop and maintain effective communication channels across departments to support coordinated care, collaboration and transparency within the organization. Maintain inventory of medical supplies, vaccines, pharmaceuticals, and equipment. Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock promptly to always ensure availability. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, including controlled substances regulations and veterinary licensing requirements.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology or related field preferred.
  • Certification: Licensed/Certified Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) required.
  • Florida State Certified Euthanasia Technician Trainer or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in veterinary practice, preferably with shelter medicine experience; minimum 1 year supervisory experience.

Responsibilities
