About The Position

Gold Coast Center for Veterinary Care is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join their Physical Rehabilitation team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys their job, and working collaboratively. The successful candidate will contribute to enhancing the lives of injured or physically impaired animals by assisting with a variety of rehabilitation services and modalities offered by the hospital.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds
• Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of veterinary medicine experience

Responsibilities

• Gentle handling of patients & restraining
• Assisting with physical rehabilitation treatments
• Maintaining rehabilitation equipment
• Cleaning, laundry and basic clinic up keep
• Medication administration & filling prescriptions
• Assisting our Technicians and our Veterinarian as needed
• Tackling projects as assigned
