Rehabilitation Assistant
About The Position
Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Permanent Part-Time Rehabilitation Assistant to join our growing team! In this role, you will assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities. You will perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist, including gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, and the application of modalities (heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS). You will also deliver dynamic, safe, and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents, set up and prepare equipment, clean up after treatments, and ensure the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy. Maintaining regular communication with the physiotherapist regarding resident status or treatment interventions and recording daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system are also key responsibilities.
Requirements
- PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
- A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
- Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
Responsibilities

- Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
- Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
- Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system
