About The Position

Lakeside Spears Animal Hospital is seeking a part-time Veterinary Receptionist to primarily support Urgent Care on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with the ability to cover General Practice shifts during the week as needed. The hospital is committed to providing excellent service with integrity to the Carbondale area, ensuring that beloved pets are treated with patience and kindness, whether for routine visits or urgent care situations. The team consists of highly-trained veterinarians and technicians who are passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate care. This role requires a motivated and talented professional to join their team.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience preferred.
Compassionate and calm team-player.
Ability to multi-task.
Strong communication skills.
Highly organized.
Possess computer skills.
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Responsibilities

Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area.
Greet and welcome clients and patients.
Answer questions and triage client concerns.
Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution.
Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow.
Check in and check out clients and process payments.
Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to clients.
Be comfortable with various medical outcomes.
Withstand unpleasant odors and noises.
May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.
