Veterinary Receptionist
About The Position
Oakview Veterinary Hospital, established in 1973, has been providing skilled and compassionate care to pets in Miami and Shelby counties and the surrounding Dayton area for over 40 years. We treat your pets as if they were our own, with our qualified staff offering expert, professional care in a clean and safe environment. We cater to a variety of pets including dogs, cats, snakes, iguanas, birds, rabbits, and hamsters. Piqua, our location, offers a small-city feel with big-city amenities, cultural attractions, museums, events, and extensive outdoor recreational opportunities along trails and paths.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience preferred
- Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
- Highly organized
- Possess computer skills
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area.
- Greet and welcome clients and patients.
- Answer questions and triage client concerns.
- Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution.
- Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow.
- Check in and check out clients and process payments.
- Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients.
- Be comfortable with various medical outcomes.
- Withstand unpleasant odors and noises.
- Be prepared for potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases.
