About The Position

Mount Dora Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our progressive, fast-paced multi-doctor general practice. We provide comprehensive care including Preventative Care, Surgery, Urgent Care, Orthopedic Surgery, In-House Diagnostics, Digital radiology, and Boarding. Our hospital is located in the beautiful small town of Mount Dora, FL, with easy commuting to Orlando. We offer a healthy and active work-life balance with popular nearby attractions and excellent public schools. The role involves maintaining the reception area, greeting clients and patients, answering questions, triaging concerns, managing calls and emails, scheduling appointments, and processing check-ins and check-outs. Receptionists provide emotional support to clients during difficult times and must be comfortable with various medical outcomes. The position requires tolerance for unpleasant odors and noises, and potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases. We provide opportunities for virtual and hands-on training and continuing development.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience preferred
Minimum of 6-12 months in a veterinary receptionist position - required
Minimum of working 2 Saturdays a month - required
Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
Highly organized and possess computer skills
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
Prior veterinary receptionist experience required
Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases

Nice To Haves

1-year veterinary experience preferred

Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area
Greet and welcome clients and patients
Answer questions and triage client concerns
Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution
Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
Check in and check out clients
Process payments
Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients
