About The Position

Horton Animal Hospital Northeast is looking for a compassionate, customer-focused Veterinary Receptionist to join our front desk team. Our Veterinary Receptionists are the face of the practice and play an important role in every client and patient experience. You’ll help strengthen our reputation in the community by creating a warm welcome, providing exceptional service, and supporting pets and their families throughout every stage of care. Requirements

  • A genuine love of animals and commitment to their welfare.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, friendly, and professional telephone presence.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy hospital environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail when updating records and documenting communication.
  • A positive attitude and collaborative, team-first mindset.
  • Compassion and empathy for clients during both joyful and difficult moments.

Nice To Haves

  • Veterinary reception experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and patients with warmth, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Manage multiple phone lines and respond to client questions clearly and courteously.
  • Schedule appointments and help coordinate the hospital’s daily calendar.
  • Complete client follow-ups and communicate important information promptly.
  • Process payments and assist clients during check-in and check-out.
  • Help clients with pet food, medications, and other supply purchases.
  • Update patient charts and maintain accurate client and patient information.
  • Keep the reception area clean, organized, comfortable, and welcoming.
  • Communicate with veterinarians, technicians, and other team members to support efficient hospital operations.
  • Create a positive experience for every pet and person who contacts or visits the hospital.
