About The Position

McDonough Animal Hospital is a well-established, fast-paced 3-doctor mixed animal practice located in McDonough, GA. We offer a comprehensive range of services including Preventative Care, Surgery, Urgent Care, High-Speed Dentistry, In-House Diagnostics, Digital full body radiology, and Medical or Vacation Boarding. Our location is ideal for someone seeking a rural setting with convenient access to amenities and the vibrant city life of Atlanta. We are situated just off interstate 75, providing easy access to surrounding areas and are within a 3-4 hour drive to the beach and North Georgia mountains for weekend getaways. This role involves maintaining the hospital reception area, greeting clients and patients, addressing concerns, managing calls and emails, scheduling appointments efficiently, and processing check-ins, check-outs, and payments. Receptionists are expected to provide compassionate emotional support to clients during difficult times and must be comfortable with various medical outcomes. The role may involve exposure to unpleasant odors, noises, bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases. Opportunities for growth are available through virtual and hands-on training and continuing development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years veterinary experience preferred
  • Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
  • Highly organized
  • Possess computer skills
  • Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area
  • Greet and welcome clients and patients
  • Answer questions and triage client concerns
  • Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution
  • Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
  • Check in and check out clients
  • Process payments
  • Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients
  • Be comfortable with various medical outcomes
  • Withstand unpleasant odors and noises
  • May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
