About The Position

Companion Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining the hospital's reception area, welcoming clients and patients, and providing essential support. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, calm, a team player, and a strong communicator, capable of handling the emotional needs of clients during difficult times. The position requires comfort with various medical outcomes and the ability to manage unpleasant odors, noises, and potential exposure to animal waste, bites, scratches, and contagious diseases. The hospital emphasizes continuous learning and offers opportunities for professional growth through virtual and hands-on training.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred

  • Must be able to properly restrain pets
  • Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area
  • Greet and welcome clients and patients
  • Answer questions and triage client concerns
  • Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution
  • Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
  • Check in and check out clients
  • Process payments
  • Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients
  • Be comfortable with various medical outcomes
  • Withstand unpleasant odors and noises
  • Manage potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
