About The Position

North Haven Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join their team. This role is crucial in maintaining the hospital's reputation for providing state-of-the-art veterinary care with a compassionate staff. The hospital combines advanced technology with personalized care, ensuring pet owners are informed and involved in their pet's healthcare decisions. The receptionist will be the first point of contact for clients and patients, offering emotional support and ensuring a smooth and efficient client experience. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with various medical outcomes, able to handle unpleasant environments, and possess strong communication and organizational skills. Opportunities for virtual and hands-on training and continuing development are available.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience required
Must be available to work Saturdays until 12pm
Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
Highly organized
Possess computer skills
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset

Responsibilities

Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area
Greet and welcome clients and patients
Answer questions and triage client concerns
Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution
Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
Check in and check out clients
Process payments
Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients
Be comfortable with various medical outcomes
Withstand unpleasant odors and noises
May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
