Requirements

  • Previous veterinary reception experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, compassionate approach to clients, patients, and coworkers
  • Confidence using computers and learning veterinary practice-management software
  • Ability to follow established procedures and treatment protocols

Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and patients with warmth and professionalism
  • Answer incoming calls and provide exceptional customer service
  • Schedule appointments, manage reminders, and support the daily appointment calendar
  • Check clients and patients in and out while maintaining accurate records
  • Process payments and review invoices with clients
  • Communicate with clients regarding appointments, reminders, and follow-up care
  • Use a friendly, client-centered approach that helps pet owners feel comfortable discussing their needs
  • Explain hospital services and basic pet-care information clearly and compassionately
  • Follow hospital Standard Operating Procedures
  • Support an efficient practice workflow and positive client experience
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
