About The Position

Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is opening a brand-new hospital in Dunwoody, Georgia, in Fall 2026 and is seeking experienced Veterinary Receptionists, Client Service Representatives (CSRs), Veterinary Client Care Specialists, and Veterinary Front Desk Professionals to join their founding Client Service team. This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate veterinary professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, communicates with confidence and empathy, and understands the critical role the front desk plays in supporting exceptional patient care. The role involves creating a welcoming, organized, and compassionate experience for clients during stressful times. Multiple full-time shifts are available, including First Shift (Days), Swing Shift (Afternoons and Evenings), and Overnight Shift. Weekend and holiday rotations are required as part of the 24-hour Emergency and Specialty Hospital. The Dunwoody hospital will provide advanced veterinary care in areas such as Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Medical Oncology, Cardiology, Radiology, and Dermatology. As a member of the Client Service team, you will collaborate closely with board-certified specialists, emergency clinicians, technicians, assistants, and hospital leadership to deliver an outstanding client experience while supporting advanced veterinary medicine.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a: Veterinary Receptionist, Veterinary Client Service Representative, Veterinary Client Care Specialist, Veterinary Front Desk Professional, Medical Receptionist, or Healthcare Client Service Representative
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
  • Comfortable supporting clients during emotional and high-pressure situations
  • Reliable attendance and strong organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Emergency or Specialty Veterinary Hospital experience
  • Familiarity with veterinary terminology
  • Experience using veterinary practice management software
  • Experience working in a high-volume veterinary or medical environment
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and patients with professionalism, compassion, and empathy
  • Answer multi-line phone systems while prioritizing emergency situations
  • Schedule specialty consultations, emergency visits, rechecks, and follow-up appointments
  • Provide timely updates regarding hospital workflow, patient status, and estimated wait times
  • Assist clients through emotionally challenging situations with professionalism and kindness
  • Register patients and accurately obtain medical histories and client information
  • Maintain complete and accurate electronic medical records
  • Coordinate communication between clients and the medical team
  • Process invoices, payments, estimates, and financial transactions accurately
  • Assist with prescription pick-ups and client documentation
  • Support scheduling across multiple specialty departments
  • Coordinate incoming referrals and specialty appointments
  • Ensure medical records and referral documentation are complete
  • Help facilitate seamless communication between referring veterinarians, specialists, and clients
  • Partner with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and leadership to maintain efficient hospital workflow
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
  • Identify workflow improvements that enhance the client experience
  • Support a collaborative and positive hospital culture
