About The Position

Skyline Veterinary Specialists & Emergency, a BluePearl Veterinary Partner, is hiring an extraordinary Veterinary Receptionist! This position is crucial to the success of our hospital, as you will be the first point of contact for clients. You will ensure each client receives the care and attention they need, functioning calmly and compassionately in potentially emotional and difficult situations. We are looking for a customer service professional who can offer guidance, comfort, and support, and who is seeking an opportunity to work with great veterinary medicine professionals in a collaborative environment that inspires growth.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients warmly and professionally with friendly eye contact every time the hospital entry door opens.
  • Offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact, and an approachable demeanor.
  • Listen compassionately and speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone.
  • Assess each client's needs and the pet's condition immediately upon arrival.
  • Determine if an emergency arrival is a "stat" versus "standard" emergency.
  • Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
  • Confirm all appointments in advance, ensuring clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet.
  • Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during the handling of pet remains, ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.
