About The Position

New Fairfield Animal Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant. This is a full-time position with predictable scheduling, featuring a 4-day work week and rotating Saturdays off. The role involves greeting clients and patients, managing appointments, handling administrative tasks, and providing direct patient care. Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and patients with warmth and professionalism
  • Answer phones, route calls appropriately, and respond to voicemails promptly
  • Schedule appointments and efficiently manage a multi-doctor calendar
  • Check patients in and out while maintaining accurate client and patient information
  • Collect payments and process invoices
  • Communicate hospital policies, pricing, and service information clearly
  • Maintain a clean, organized front desk and welcoming lobby environment
  • Handle client concerns with empathy and professionalism
  • Help clients schedule recommended services, procedures, and rechecks
  • Educate clients on preventative care and next steps
  • Feed, walk, and care for hospitalized patients
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout kennel and treatment areas
  • Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
  • Obtain patient histories, vitals, and patient assessments
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing including CBC/chemistry, urinalysis, cytology, and fecal testing
  • Maintain accurate patient records and medical charts
  • Provide compassionate client education and communication
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to support an efficient workflow
  • Support daily hospital operations and patient care needs as needed
