About The Position

AcutePet Urgent Care is seeking a Veterinary Practice Manager to help launch and lead our Avon, Ohio hospital opening this fall. This is an opportunity for a leader who enjoys building strong teams, creating operational excellence, and making a meaningful impact on both patient care and employee experience. As Practice Manager, you'll partner closely with your Managing Veterinarian to create a hospital culture where people feel supported, clients feel cared for, and teams can do their best work. You'll have the autonomy to lead locally while being supported by an experienced veterinary leadership team committed to your success. Whether you come from veterinary medicine, healthcare, or another service-focused industry, we're looking for a leader who thrives on developing people, solving problems, and driving results. Our urgent care model provides emergency-level medicine without overnight hours, creating a healthier and more sustainable environment for veterinary teams. No two days look exactly the same, but every day is focused on supporting people, improving operations, and helping the hospital succeed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in veterinary, healthcare, or service-industry management
  • Proven success leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including budgeting, payroll, and reporting
  • Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and operational workflows
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees, clients, and community partners
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive, collaborative workplace
  • Availability for occasional evening or weekend support as needed

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach hospital team members
  • Partner with the Managing Veterinarian on hospital goals and performance
  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, and workflow efficiency
  • Monitor key business metrics, budgeting, payroll, and inventory
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and employee development
  • Address client concerns and enhance the overall client experience
  • Build relationships with local veterinary practices and community partners
  • Foster a culture of accountability, communication, and teamwork
