About The Position

Black Mountain Animal Hospital is seeking a hands-on Veterinary Operations Manager to support the treatment floor, strengthen front desk workflow, improve client communication, and ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the hospital. This hybrid role requires a candidate who understands veterinary medicine, hospital flow, and is comfortable leading people while also being willing to assist with technical tasks. The ideal candidate will bridge both clinical flow and client service aspects of the hospital. Requirements

  • Strong veterinary technician experience
  • Comfortable working with doctors, technicians, assistants, and receptionists
  • Ability to organize a busy hospital without creating tension
  • Clear and professional communication with clients and staff
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations with maturity
  • Understanding of client service, phone conversion, follow-up, and clear communication
  • Ability to improve team accountability without being harsh or dramatic
  • Confident, calm, organized, and solutions-focused demeanor
  • Proactive approach, taking ownership rather than waiting for direction
  • Desire to help build a stronger hospital
  • RVT strongly preferred, but highly experienced veterinary technicians with strong leadership ability will be considered

Responsibilities

  • Supporting doctors and technicians with daily treatment flow
  • Assisting with appointments, procedures, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and patient care
  • Helping the front desk improve phone handling, scheduling, client communication, and follow-up
  • Coaching technicians, assistants, and reception team members
  • Helping train new employees and reinforce hospital standards
  • Monitoring workflow to ensure appointments, treatments, discharges, and callbacks are handled
  • Presenting estimates and supporting treatment-plan communication
  • Improving client experience from initial contact through checkout
  • Identifying operational problems and implementing practical solutions
  • Supporting inventory, compliance, organization, and daily accountability
  • Communicating with ownership and leadership regarding hospital operations
