About The Position

The Arizona Humane Society is looking for a full time Lead Veterinary Technician to join our competitive paying, non-profit veterinary clinic, and work 4 10 hour shifts. Join our Community Medicine Hospital team as a Lead Veterinary Technician and help shape the future of compassionate veterinary care!

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Four years of experience working as a veterinary technician at a general practice/full-service clinic required
  • One year of leadership experience required
  • Able to speak, read and write English
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Explorer; able to learn other software programs as necessary
  • Regular attendance and punctuality required
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and background screening to be compliant with DEA requirements for dispensing controlled drugs

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish language helpful
  • Proficiency with Daysmart preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supporting veterinarians in exams, surgeries, and diagnostics
  • Overseeing patient flow to keep appointments and procedures running smoothly
  • Performing a wide range of technical skills from anesthesia monitoring to lab work
  • Client communication, helping pet owners understand treatment plans and home care
  • Maintaining accurate records and well-organized inventory
  • Guiding and mentoring your team
  • Ensuring every patient and client receives exceptional care
  • Lead by example, strengthen your team, and make a meaningful impact in your community
