About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PART TIME Veterinary Kennel Assistant to join our esteemed team at Ramsgate Veterinary Clinic. As a Veterinary Kennel Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent care and support to our animal patients and their owners. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the comfort, cleanliness, and well-being of the animals in our care, as well as assisting our veterinary staff with various tasks to facilitate the smooth operation of our hospital.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate and attentive care to animals in the kennel, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
Assist with walking, feeding, and administering medications as directed by veterinary staff.
Observe animals for any signs of distress, illness, or behavior changes and promptly report concerns to veterinarians or veterinary technicians.
Maintain a clean and sanitary kennel environment by regularly cleaning and disinfecting cages, runs, and common areas.
Launder and sanitize bedding, towels, and other animal-related items.
Properly dispose of waste and ensure waste areas are kept clean and organized.
Safely and gently handle animals, following established protocols for restraint to ensure the safety of both animals and staff.
Assist veterinary staff during procedures and examinations, providing support as needed.
Interact with pet owners in a professional and friendly manner, providing updates on their pets' well-being and addressing any questions or concerns.
Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring a smooth experience for both clients and their pets.
Assist with maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the clinic/hospital, including exam rooms, treatment areas, and public spaces.
Assist with inventory management, restocking supplies, and maintaining a well-organized supply storage area.
