Elm City Vet is seeking an experienced and motivated Veterinary Hospital Manager to lead our Primary Care team in New Haven, CT. As Hospital Manager, you will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, fostering a collaborative and positive culture, and empowering a dedicated team to deliver exceptional patient care and client service. Requirements

  • 3+ years of leadership experience, preferably within a veterinary general practice setting.
  • Possesses critical thinking, operational expertise, and problem-solving skills essential to a fast-paced veterinary hospital.
  • 3+ years in Customer Service role, preferably in veterinary general practice.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Proven experience developing and growing teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Standard knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Must be flexible to meet the needs of the department.
  • Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Veterinary Practice Manager is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day operations of the hospital, ensuring exceptional patient care, outstanding client service, and a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Provides strategic and operational leadership to the hospital team while ensuring they have the resources, support, and guidance needed to deliver the highest standard of veterinary care.
  • Lead the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and team development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous learning by coaching employees, providing regular feedback, and creating individualized development plans that support both personal and professional growth.
  • Partners closely with fellow Hospital Managers across the region to share best practices, improve workflows, and drive operational efficiencies while maintaining exceptional standards of patient care and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the Area Director to establish and achieve operational, financial, and strategic goals that support the continued success and growth of your hospital.
