About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Hospital Administrator to join a well-established veterinary hospital in the greater Houston area. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative, people-focused leader who is passionate about veterinary medicine, developing strong teams, and driving operational excellence. As a key member of the hospital's leadership team, the Hospital Administrator will partner closely with medical leadership to oversee daily operations, financial performance, team development, and the overall client and employee experience. We are looking for someone who enjoys being present and engaged with their team, building meaningful relationships, solving problems, and creating an environment where both people and exceptional patient care can thrive.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of leadership and management experience in veterinary medicine or healthcare required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong understanding of hospital operations, financial performance, and team development.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • A people-focused leadership style that balances compassion with accountability.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative medical environment.
  • A passion for supporting veterinary professionals and delivering exceptional patient and client care.

Nice To Haves

  • bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience managing veterinarians, physicians, or other professional staff strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture between all hospital teams.
  • Partner with medical leadership to oversee daily hospital operations and achieve hospital goals.
  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop hospital team members.
  • Support DVMs and hospital leadership with administrative, HR, performance, and operational needs.
  • Monitor financial performance, labor costs, revenue, and key hospital metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, operational efficiency, and the client and team experience.
  • Oversee scheduling, facilities, equipment, compliance, and other operational needs.
  • Navigate employee and client concerns with empathy, professionalism, and sound judgment.
  • Build strong relationships within the local veterinary community.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning, business development, and continued hospital growth.
